our door is always open

Recovery is not a straight path—it’s a journey, and sometimes, it takes what it takes. Some get it the first time, others take longer. But one thing I know for certain: God is a God of another chance, not just a second chance.

Just recently, we welcomed some familiar faces—Amanda, Terri, and Lauren. These courageous women found their way back to Recoverychick sober living home. Each of them has faced struggles, but instead of giving up, they chose to fight for their sobriety. They came back—not to start over, but to continue their journey toward healing, growth, and freedom.

"It feels good to be back home," one of them said. And that’s exactly what this ministry is—a home, a place of refuge, where no one is judged for how many times it takes to get it right.

Let’s Take a Look at Macy’s Story: A Journey of Perseverance and Faith

Macy came through our doors three different times before she truly "got it." The first time, she left too soon, believing she was ready. The second time, she left on a pass and, unfortunately, relapsed. But the third time—something changed. She made a commitment to stay for a full year, and that decision transformed her life.

Macy fully embraced the recovery process. She immersed herself in her faith, attended all her meetings, worked through her steps with her sponsor, and showed up whenever we needed her. If there was an opportunity to serve, she said yes. Her dedication was inspiring to everyone around her.

During her time in our home, Macy not only healed spiritually and emotionally but also took major steps toward securing her future. She earned her CNA license and found meaningful employment. But her success didn’t stop there. Since moving out, Macy has continued to thrive—she got her own place, got married, started nursing school, and in less than a month, she will be a homeowner!

Macy’s journey is proof that when you surrender, commit, and lean into faith, incredible things happen. We are beyond proud of her and grateful to have been a part of her story.

As long as there are people fighting to get sober, we will be right there, fighting beside them. Because when there’s life, there’s hope. There’s always an opportunity to get clean and step into the life God has planned.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the privilege of walking alongside these women as they seek healing and freedom. We lift up every woman still battling addiction, still searching for hope. Lord, remind them that they are never beyond Your reach, that Your love is greater than their struggles. Give them the strength to take the next step, the courage to believe in a new beginning, and the faith to trust in Your plan. May RecoveryChick continue to be a place of refuge, a home where women can rebuild their lives with dignity, faith, and purpose.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
